CES Unveiled: photo gallery
Although the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is still two days away, Sunday afternoon (Las Vegas time) played host to the CES Unveiled event, an early sneak peek of what can be expected from the show itself. Here are some of the things that caught our eye.

Vuzix Smart Glasses M100
Vuzix, the creator of a number of wearable display devices, was showing the prototype of this wearable smartphone display, competing heavily with Google Glass. Since then, it has released an SDK for devs, and handed out a few specs: the M100 will shoot 720p video, runs Android 4.0, has GPS and Wi-Fi and has a WQVGA res display.

iHome IBT44
It's not a groundbreaking device by any stretch of the imagination, but we liked the style aesthetic of the IBT44. The retro-looking boombox is a Bluetooth stereo, as well as a charging dock for your iDevice.

Mad Catz Mous 9 and Rat M
The Mous 9 is Mad Catz taking its gaming know-how to create a standard consumer mouse. It's adjustable for hand comfort, boasts a one-year battery life and has drag-and-drop programmable macros. The Rat M — the smaller mouse in the photo — is a mobile gaming mouse designed to keep the Rat power, but in a smaller form factor.

Sphero
Sphero, the remote-controlled robot ball, is not exactly new, but its creator, Orbotix, is showing it off again with a host of new AR games. Orbotix reckon the new games are faster and "smarter", and give consumers the "latest in AR technology". We will say this: Sphero is still heaps of fun to play around with.

Ion Job Rocker
Do you take your portable music seriously? So does Ion, with the Job Rocker being one of the bigger and gutsier speakers we've seen. Ion also had the Clipster on display — a carabiner-style portable speaker that you can clip on to your belt or bag. And annoy people on trains with.

Trakdot Luggage
Trakdot is a cellular-based device that can track your luggage for you. By not using GPS, Globaltrak has managed to create a device that's airline compliant. Pop this in your bag, and you'll get a text telling you which city your bag is in. It's great if you're waiting at an empty baggage carousel.

Griffin Wood Tones
Yep, they're wooden headphones and ear buds. It might be a bit weird, but honestly, they look pretty damn classy.

The Rugged Rukus is a solar-powered portable speaker that has Bluetooth one-touch pairing. Even better, it'll work as a charger for your portable devices.
