Microsoft gets artsy with bold new mice

Five artists have brought their visions to Microsoft mice, in case you like your peripherals with a slightly head-trippy feel. Whoa, man!

Fancy a fancier mouse?

Microsoft today announced five new additions to its line-up of artist-edition mice. The artists behind the bedecked peripherals, hailing from around the globe, include Kenzo Minami, Stina Persson, Tchmo, Sally Zou and Oh Joy (that's the artist's name, not necessarily an editorial comment on the new products).

The mice, as you can see from the picture above, eschew the standard black-and-silver mouse costuming in favour of bold, sometimes whimsical, designs, including one biomechanical collage of black, white, silver and gold, and another reminiscent of '70s fabrics.

If the arty versions of the Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 and Arc Touch Mouse are too much for you, but you still want to turn up the mouse notch a bit, Microsoft is also rolling out several limited-edition mouse shades.

The Explorer Touch Mouse will be available in dahlia pink and white, and the Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 will come in aqua blue, citron green, cobalt blue, dahlia pink, flame red, white and black.

For pricing information, as well as a closer look at the new colours and designs, scamper on over to the product pages.
